I am Kelly Musser, a portrait, family, and wedding photographer/watercolor artist in Mandeville, Louisiana. I co-own KLM studio and gallery in Mandeville, Louisiana with my mom, Kathy Levine, where we sell art and gifts. I am married to my best friend, Jake, and together we have two children, James and Millie. My passion for photography grew when I had my son, hoping to capture all of those fleeting moments as though they were frozen in time. The moments that you can look back on, the moments that tell that unforgettable story. Growing up, I always had my head in a book. In part, I think that is why storytelling and documenting in a creative way is so important to me as a photographer. I want to capture those magical memories and document your unique story so they can be remembered forever. I shoot mostly using natural light because of the soft warmth or coolness it creates. All of my photographs are carefully selected and hand edited to gently enhance the natural beauty of the photograph without heavily altering the subject and its surroundings. As a photographer, I strive to create beautiful art that can be displayed and enjoyed for a lifetime.
KLM studio and gallery is an art studio located in the heart of Old Mandeville. Kathy Levine and her daughter, Kelly Levine Musser, are both self-taught artists that started the business because of their passion for the arts. Kathy developed Multiple Sclerosis which destroyed her athletic lifestyle and love of playing tennis. Due to her inability to withstand the Louisiana heat, she started to paint and quickly realized her affinity for acrylics. She paints mostly with a palette knife creating boldly colored pieces with lots of texture. Her contemporary, impressionistic style paintings make beautiful additions to any home or business. Kelly started painting soon after her son was born. While she had been doodling here and there since she was young, she never felt confident enough to showcase any of her work. After filling her son’s room with paintings of his favorite character, Winnie the Pooh, she decided creating art was something she could not live without. Her favorite medium is watercolor because it enables her to get the clean look she loves while adding a touch of whimsical to her art. She also does portrait photography taking inspiration from the colorful surroundings of Southern Louisiana. Stop by and see us anytime!
